I recently acquired a 74 DT175(A?).

I have a Clymer Manual which is maddenly evasive in stating the proper float level height for this carb.

The Float Level table in Clymer page 86 only shows info for these models:

GT Series, YZ80a, DT100A, MX100A, AT1 series (and MX), AT2, AT3, AT2-MX, ATMX, DT125A, MX125A, YZ100C, YZ125A, CT1 series, CT2, CT3, DT125A, MX175A

Is DT175A the correct designation for 1974 and could it be equivalent to AT2 or CT2 or CT3?

Thanks!

They all use a variation of the Mikuni VM24 carb, be it bigger or smaller, newer older and the float height is 21mm.

Bit more info,

DT175 A/B

Mikuni VM24ss

160 main,

5G4 jet needle

Clip 3rd groove from top

Pilot air screw 1 3/4 turns out

Float height 21mm +/- 1.0mm

Idle speed 1300-1400rpm

Thanks Cynic. This post provided more answers than what you could have imagened.

Hi Cynic! Thanks for this info. How about Mikuni Carb VM26SS and TM28-92 for DTs particularly on Pilot air screw turns. Is it the same as VM24SS? Thanks :)
