Posted September 14, 201014 yr Hey Everyone - I'm new so be gentle. I have a 1981 Exciter 250 with only 2,700 miles. It sat in a garage for almost 10 years but started right up after I put oil in it, a new spark plug, and creamed the tank. It runs great through all the gears. But it has a loud tapping sound that's hard to locate. I adjusted the cam chain tensioner and valves according to repair manual specs. Does anyone know if this is typical of this bike? Any ideas or remedies? Thanks. DMoney
