XJ650 Rear Shocks

Hello all, I just picked up a 1982 XJ650 Maxim and I need some recommendations for swapping out the rear shocks.

Either mine are shot (likely since I think its the original set) or its just not as still as I'd like.

I've got them set on the stiffest possible setting and its not getting the job done.

I noticed the XJ750's have a different style rear shock, are these better? or are they even compatible?

Any help would be appreciated.
