jquinton
Hi, can not find a wiring diagram but some lovely lad stole my stepsons T80 Townmate bike and ripped out the wiring. The bike runs now, lights work, but the whole ignition switch is missing and I assume it kills the engine as it is hand over carb at the moment. Any help with how the switch is wired/works would be appreciated as a new switch is more than the bike is worth. Was thinking of using a toggle switch as a kill switch if I can work out how to wire in the 3 wires. JC
ArthurD
The Ignition switch has just two seperate switches. When switched to on the battery positive (red) connects to the brown wires in the loom to power the indicators and stop lights. When in the off position the red /black wire from the CDI unit is taken to earth the kill the engine. It's basic in the extreme. Hope this helps. That is why a physical security device is adviseable on these old bikes. Doug.
