I had no idea it was so complicated, I just figured it was slang for monetary units equivilant to what we use. It's not even close. I mean we have loonies and toonies but there nowheres neer as cool as 2 Bob and a Tanner! If you want to go back even farther, there was a farthing,(a small coin with a wren on it) which was a quarter of a 1d. For that you could buy 1 blackjack or even a fruit salad in the 1950's.
