Hello. I just changed the handlebars on my 78 XS750 from the origional chrome ones to a pair of black painted ones, and it wont electric start. The following have all been checked and DO WORK> lights, kick start, kill switch, and blinkers. I also shaved off all the paint under the throttle grip incase it was a 'bad ground' problem. Any suggestions?

sounds to me like you have disturbed the wiring somewhere, follow the wiring down to where it plugs in and clean the connectors. you would be surprised how many times its the simple things that are overlooked
