FZX 750 engine idle speed dropping unexpectedly???

Hi,

I'm wondering if anyone can help me? I've just rebuilt the top end of my FZX 750 and when it came to balancing the carbs I've picked up a problem of the idle speed at 1000rpm being irratic. It keeps dropping to around 500rpm then cutting out.When I try to even it out with the idle adjusting bolt on the carbs it doesnt respond to the adjustment? I've cleaned out the jets in the carbs which I must say where a tad furry due to it being stood for around 5 years and still have the problem???? any suggestions on how to rectify this problem?
