Thinking about renewing the handlebar damper mounts on my '80 XS400 and saw the ones listed on Mikes XS for the XS650 at a much cheaper price. Anyone know if they are the same? Thanks!!

According to the OEM part finder here:

they are not the same part. The 400 takes damper 256-23434-01-00 while the 650 needs 1T4-23434-00-00. That said, here's an ebay listing for NOS dampers for the 400: 160357582033 (I know, the listing says they're for the 650, but the part number is clearly the 400 #).

i ordered the ones from mikexs for my 76 xs360... they fit perfect, i verified with bikebandit part numbers that it was the same at the 76 xs650, and they were... im not saying that yours is and will be the same, but consult bikebandit part numbers..
