I just purchased a Yamaha 175 Enduro from an auction this weekend however, the data plate is unreadable and we dont know the exact year of manufacture. The VIN number stamped on the frame is 443-014469. Can anyone help please?

Thanks,

Incidentally, i had found this, didn't think it reliable to answer your question.

From 'Yahoo Answers' no less.

1974 intro'd the "DT- Series".

The 175's in 1974 became DT175A

Engine Numbers:

1974>DT175A> #443-000101

1975>DT175B>#443-100101

1976>DT175C>#559-000101

---1976 was the Last of the Twin Shock 175's

1977---there was NO "DT175" for 1977.

The IT175 was introduced,,,and was 1st 175 Monoshock

1978>DT175E>#2A7-000101

The DT175 was Back,,,with a Monoshock.

1979>DT175F> #2N5-000101

1980>DT175G> #3J1-000101

1981>DT175H> #3J1-060101

1981 was end of the DT 175 Series

IT175's ran thru 1983.

They were the last 175cc 2 strokes,,,far as I know

Yes there was they just didn't send them to America. Kissing cousin of the CT1 sold from 75/6 to 78. B)

Best shot on the vin number is a DT175A circa 74, a picture would help quite a bit. Can you read the engine number by any chance, should be on the top RHside of the engine under the carb.

Right a good clean std bike. Looks right but then 74-77 did look similar, the graphics though did change and with a bit of luck someone on here may be able to nail it down a little nearer i'll see what i can find. It does look to have the oversize front tyre that the A/B had for whatever reason but that isn't a definite to date the chassis from.
