Posted June 5, 201014 yr HI , I have a 1979 XS Eleven that is in need of an overhaul of the pickups ,( Bike starts and cuts out when warm !) Could anyone suggest Where or Who to go to to get this Done , Bike has yet to see road in two years (Frustrating to say the least!) Many Thanks
June 7, 201014 yr It depends what type of pick it is. If its a hall effect you need new ones, no ifs or buts. If its a wound inductive type I may be able to rewind them. (We specialise in classic Yamaha generators) You need to e-mail direct if you want me to look into this. A repair might not be that cheap so find out how much new ones are. If it turns out to be hall effect its possible I can locate a different pick up, but it'll be down to you to assemble it to the back plate. Typically though they use industry standard pick up assembled to the back plate with solid rivets to prevent tampering. [email protected]
