hels205
Hi all, New to this biker stuff. Thanks to the wonders of eBay I'm a new owner of a 1996 SR125. She's a lovely gal and when she's running its lots of fun for a new rider like me. BUT..... When cold, very cold, the bike will start with the choke. When hot or even a couple hours after being ridden the bike refuses to start. Starter turns over nicely. I can hear ignition but it doesnt catch. Spark plug changed for a new one and it sounds exactly the same. Side stand down, in neutral. What am I missing? Help Thanks

hels205
Erm..... Are sponge air filters supposed to turn into dust when you touch them? No? I didnt think so either. She's now at a local garage who has replaced the air filter, cleaned out the carb and reset it due to bit of disintergrated sponge air filter clogging up everything. Then after trying to find out why the compression was still half of what it should be it's a rebore job to fit new pistons. Poor gal didnt get enough care and attention and my CBT on her took her just over the edge. Here's looking forward to a reliable 125 when she returns. Thought everyone would like to know it was more than just one thing that kept this old gal from starting.
