Hi all,

While doing research for my Yamaha I discovered this forum, and hope to receive guidance. I'm new to bikes, and even more green when it comes to engines, so I picked up a Clymers manual. This was a recent acquisition, and the previous owner was more interested in painting the tank than oil changes, new spark plugs, air filters, fork seals/covers, chain and a sprockets.

At about 13,000 miles she needs some work, but runs strong. I try to do something every week to eventually get her back in good form. New fork seals, intake manifolds and a repaired header is in the near future.

[Edit] Valve issue solved.

Recently acquired 1978 XS400 after a good cleaning and quick & easy cafe-like mods:
