That what I was thinking too, but what's with the alternator case? And the cylinder / head layout is completely different! Still driving me crazy... Kind of a cool bike.

Well, i do not know if nowadays is the same , but i remember that in Japan you can only ride motorcycles up to 400 cc engines.Perhaps , the engine is an XV 400.The one this motorcycle has , is similar to an XV 535 engine.
