Starts up first kick and runs exc. When using electric starter it takes a while...usually starts after a big backfire?? Only when I electric start it. Someone said starter brushes? If so...where are they located? Easy fix for mechanical guy but not mechanic?? Thanks

I would think the brushes are ok if the starter motor is doing its job...ie turning the engine.

Check your spark plug gap is not too big.
