Posted April 6, 201014 yr Hell i have a 1983 Yamaha maxim 400.. how do i know if i have the XS400R or XS400 ? I want to get new NGK iridium plugs and not sure what motor to get them for, as they are different part numbers. THANKS! 1984-1977 400 XS400 Iridium BPR7EIX 4055 0.032 1983-1982 400 XS400R Iridium DR8EIX 6681 0.028 I don't trust the plugs that are in there now. The guy I bought the bike from wasn't very mechanically inclined.
