Hi all,

i just picked up a 1973 TX 650. the handle bar / gauge cluster is loose. I am not sure as to why. from what i can tell there are two bolts that hold the triple clamp? im new to bikes and this is my first street bike so please forgive my lack of the lingo lol. the two bolts i mention are tight. so are the bolts that clamp the handle bar down. from what i can tell there seems to be to rubber bushings that the bolts pass through. im sorry this is so vague but any thoughts are appreciated.

if i'm understanding you correctly, the rubber bushings are most likely to blame. Try and get the part # from yamaha and check to see if you can get them anymore.

you could always solid mount them but it will chatter your teeth.
