hey guys I am looking at sito mufflers because the complete exhaust system is too hard to find. Is the thing on the right a midpip/balancer for the stock headers? Also would I be gaining anything from these mufflers since the headers are stock? its suppose to be 218 dollars, is it a good price or do anyone of you guys know anywhere cheaper I can get them? replac1.jpg

there's no balancer pipe with SITO's that I know of for xs400's! they are a bit long as my friend has them on his. they look well made though!

can't comment on the price as don't buy exhausts from the states!

found two original exhausts on ebay. '79 for $50, '80 for $80...

can you weld? making your own is always fun!

nope I cannot weld, I am just looking for the exhaust tips because it just looks better than the original exhaust, I was just wondering if it made any significant improvement to the bike. Also see that "H" thing on the stock exhaust, isn't that a balancer/midpipe thing? or what is it called? am I calling it the wrong thing?
