hiya peeps

Was tinkering with the XJ most of this week and have a bit of a problem with the rev counter, it works to an extent but tends to stay at 2k when idling and revs to about 3-3.5k when i rev the engine, but i know for the fact that the engine revs are normal...

from what i can see, its not a cable driven tacho... so im all out of ideas now :/ any help appreciated

stop messing with your bike/s, every time you do, something goes wrong and you end up stripping the things down

sorry no idea of the fix, I need to go to bed!

but trying to is all part of the fun ;)

now seriously... any ideas as to whats causing the problem?, its got wires coming out of it which means its probably electrical... not my strongest point (tried wiring up a towbar and got the indicators crossed with the sidelights, so with the indicators on the sidelights would flash aswell, caused no end of piss-taking in the motor club >.<)
