Posted February 19, 201015 yr I need a luggage rack for my VSTAR 950 tourer. Looking around the standard Yamaha STR-3D-851-30-00 one is reported to break, does anybody know of a really good one that bolts straight on to the standard sissy bar? Thanks, Geoff
February 19, 201015 yr Yep, plenty of 'em out there. Almost as many as saddlebag makes. Google is your friend!

February 19, 201015 yr Author Hmmm, well the only one that I could find that fits the standard sissy bar on the tourer is the Yamaha one, there are plenty (Cobra, Bub) that look really nice but require me to throw away the 950 sissy bar. I can see why the Yamaha one fails because of those thin mounting plates, I haven't found one that clamps to the tubular uprights - that would be better.... Gonna visit the local Yamaha people in San Jose this weekend and look. Geoff
February 19, 201015 yr If you're in the US try http://store.valueaccessories.net/luggageandaccessories-10.aspx I think they do aftermarket ones fit your bike + hold more weight than standard one. There's also http://www.yamahasportsplaza.com/pages/catalogs/detail/26/203/403/20548/1/0/0/1/4/90/5464/63354/rear-luggage-rack.aspx for cheaper OEM one Good luck

June 30, 201410 yr Heffy - It's been a few years since you posted the luggage rack info. The link no longer works. Any idea what brand and model number your luggage rack is?
June 30, 201410 yr Never mind. Found yours and it doesn't fit a 1300, but found another that was similar. Thanks.
June 30, 201410 yr Aye gent 62 , hefty was last online oct 2010. the usual draggy members will chip in,,
July 2, 201410 yr For the 1300 it's this one: (same shop I linked above). http://store.valueaccessories.net/LuggageRackYamaha1300VStarTourerFitsYamahaOEMBrackets.aspx It's machined from a single piece of metal and is extremely strong.
