AndyDtr08
Great news! That sounds effective then. The red line will be, as you say, caused by the wire in the back of the speed as it is a rev limiter. Has it increased top speed or just power? Andy

rcirjoescu
oki so here are the pics with that piece of the rstrictor cut out of the exhaust, and the exhaust welded back together. I must mention that top speed i wrote is the speed i got in the citty cause i didn't got time to go on the open road, but in 6 gear full throtle about 6-10 seconds i got to somwhere between 80 km/h and 90 km/h and from 80km/h does not go up in rpm only v. v. freaking slow till 8-9k rpm. Maybe in the weekend i take it out for a proper ride outside the citty. So exhaust model 3RM-00 , Yamaha DT125 r made in 2003 http://imageshack.us.../imgp2842p.jpg/ http://imageshack.us...5/imgp2845.jpg/ http://imageshack.us...2/imgp2847.jpg/ http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/832/imgp2848q.jpg/
AndyDtr08
Good Job! The exhaust is marked 3MB? I have one in the shed which has holes in. I'll go cut it open and see what is inside. Andy
rcirjoescu
the mark on the exhaust is: "YAMAHA 3RM-00" http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/832/imgp2848q.jpg/
AndyDtr08
Ok cheers. I just cut open a pre 99 exhaust I had in the shed that is damaged. No restrictor in the expansion chamber. Although could that been have removed previously? I'm hoping not otherwise i'll not know whether to cut open the other one! So by the looks of it, pre 1999 exhaust have the restrictor in the exhaust/engine manifold end in the form of the cone and 99-04 have the plate welded inside the expansion. A Pre 99 zorst will fit on a later bike but the mount by the rear brake resevoir doesnt match up.
Moderator Airhead Posted July 6, 2012 Author Moderator Share Posted July 6, 2012 a word of warning, never cut up a good one unless you know what you'll find inside, I did this and found nothing! it was only restricted by the tube in the header pipe Andy post up the number on the pipe you just cut up with nothing inside
rcirjoescu
oki i rechecked the model of my exhaust :S i am v. v. srry the model is 3RM-00 so i will correct it in the upper posts. here is the pic also. srry agane Andy or whoever else got it wrong. http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/832/imgp2848q.jpg/
AndyDtr08
No problem joe ( picked a name for you). The exhaust had a large section missing from the front pipe. It was always useless so infact it proved useful as an experiment. I think I'll use somekind of wire to feel down the other one and see if I can feel the plate. I did have a look for the numbers but couldnt see any. Will have another look in a mo and post back findings. I expect to find 3MB-00 Andy
AndyDtr08
Well I've not idea what AMAHA is but it's a 3MB alright! both exhausts show YAMAHA 3MB-14610 The one below is my other spare, which will now be stripped back and re painted for use on the bike! AndyDtr08
I was joking about the Y and I called "rcirjoescu" joe so thought maybe you were making a new name for me! Anyway, glad to have cleared up the point about exhausts. 3rm exhausts need to be cut open 3mb can be de restricted without.
