Posted January 8, 201015 yr HISTORY OF LAS MARIAS VIAJERAS LAS MARIAS Viajeras was established in April 2009 and was founded by 3 lady riders, Pheng(Rouser Club of the Philippines), Emma ( Yamaha Owner's Society) and Susan( XRM Bikers Club).They've been riding with different groups until met the other ladies of LAS MARIAS. There came Avi, a Honda Wave 125 rider, who was a newbie by then but was able cope up as a rider specially when they attended the Philippine Independence Day ride in Kawit Cavite. The first general meeting was held last April 23, 2009 @ Alabang Country Club sponsored by Doc Rickie and was attended by Venus, Angel, Mary Anne.. etc. The name LAS MARIAS Viajeras originated from TRES MARIAS who happen to be the alias of the 3 founders. The ladies have been riding to different places in the North and South in touring mode with their safety gears. Las Marias Viajeras aims to unite all the lady riders and motorcycle enthusiasts and help promote safety not just within themselves but also to other mc riders. It also aims to educate all the ladies that they can also ride on their own with their own style and attitude. LAS MARIAS is the acronym for LAdieS in Motorcycles And Ride Independently with attitude and Style. LAS MARIAS Viajeras was chosen to be one of the ambassadress of MDPPA's Road Safety Campaign to promote safety when riding motorcycle. There came their billboard together with Lovelove ( the superbike goddess) and Joanna Areglado (Motocross racer). It was launched last September 5 @ Honda Safety Driving in Bicutan.They were also interviewed in Motorsiklo to promote safety and show that ladies can also ride motorcycle as a rider and not just a back rider. They even hosted a Safety Seminar that was conducted by Shell to help our co riders become a responsible rider. As a place for sisterhood, LMV also conducts team building within the group, either whole day event or overnight. This is to strengthen friendship and camaraderie within the group. They also meet every Friday @ Macapagal to discuss upcoming social events and meet up with other mc riders.
