Posted December 7, 200915 yr Hi Everyone, Real new to this game,(just joined), looking a little advice from all you Yamaha specialists. I have recently acquired an XJ 900f, (1989) and would like to know the method of cam chain adjustment. The bike has 55k mls and I know the chain has never been adjusted because I bought off my dad. December 7, 200915 yr Hi Alistair, Cam chain tensioner is "automatic",on a one-way ratchet, and cannot be done manually. At 55K it may well be due a new chain !
