vroooOOOM Posted November 22, 2009 Share Posted November 22, 2009 I have just bought a winter project, 1982 Yamaha sr250, on checking the spark when I press the start button I get an immediate spark then nothing untill I stop pressing the button and then a few seconds later I get a single spark, WEIRD. the starter motor is a little worn/slow, would I be right in thinking there's not enough turn over speed to generate a full spark? vroooOOOM Posted November 25, 2009 Author Share Posted November 25, 2009 Thanks guys I sorted it now, it was the ht lead shorting out, I recharged the battery and whehey it lives! Thanks again. YPVS TONE Posted November 28, 2009 Share Posted November 28, 2009 On the XT250 i had which is basicaly the same engine as the SR i seem to remember the tacho cable outer cable is held in with a circlip where it goes into the cam cover and then should pull out.Tony.
