Posted November 20, 200915 yr Hi I am rebuilding a 81 DT175, I may need to buy a new barrel, is there differences between the years? Someone told me the had a longer stroke and therefore a different barrel at some point. Also if they are different are the heads interchangable? Thanks

Thanks It is better to track down a good second hand barrel ( they are out there) as the castings and port area's are better on the oem equipment. The only ones you can buy new are a pattern copy, which i personally don't think are worth the money.
