I want to get a nice pair of saddle bags for my 07 v-star 1100. Do I need to get the metal frames to go between the bags and the bike to keep the bags from getting into the rear wheels?

Forgive the sarcasm, but if you have a s/bag and you take a corner, that bag will follow gravity into the wheel.
