Just Plain Bill Posted November 22, 2009 Share Posted November 22, 2009 Post the numbers stamped on the frame headstock (as described by Blackhat 250) here. I have a Yamaha dealer only microfiche with production year of Yamahas made between 1961 and 1992 and should be able to provide you with an answer. Apart from the new paintwork and graphics the only change was to the top end of the engine, together with flat-slide carburettor. The 3RN1 model was superseded by 3RN2 at the beginning of 1990 and by the 3RN4 model at the beginning of 1991; differing only in colour and graphics. Later versions of the DT125R(3RN6,3RN7 and 3RN8) differed only in colour and graphics. If your just after spares look for either a 3DB or 3RN number on the top of the cylinder head as there isn't much change in the later models. hope this helps Vez...
