CraigDayna
Hi, I've a 1990 XJ 600 (pre diversion) with a LHS coil that keeps overheating (however they both look non Yamaha). Trying to get replacements on the internet has shown 3 different shaped coils? The Haynes gives no indication of part number either. What should I be looking for as the 1990-91 is also a different spec from earlier models or can I use alternatives if they have the same ratings as given in the Haynes? peterxj600
Any pre-diversion coil will be fine. I know the Haynes Manual shows a difference for 89-90 models but in reality a difference of a quarter of an ohm primary resistance is negligible. My XJ is a 1989, bought my replacement RH coil from Wemoto and it works fine. P
CraigDayna
Thanks Peter, I'll give these others a try that I have. Good to know that they're interchangeable. Cheers. Craig
