HI THERE IM NEW TO THIS SITE, JUST WONDERING IF ANY ONE CAN HELP.

just wondering if any one has come across a problem with a starter motor on a 2003 wr450f, i have just fitted new brushes, bearing, seal and o rings, re fitted starter motor to bike and it seems that its turning in the opposite direction thus not cranking the engine!! i have removed the cover thats on the left side crank case that covers the starter motor gears etc and can see that its defo turning the wrong way, the brushes are defo fitted the correct way, as 1 is soldered in place and 1 is screwed. also does the the starter motor have an earth wire bolted to it via mounting bolt or should this be on the frame?? any help would be greatley appreciated
