I wanted to comment on a thread that's locked-out, and couldn't. So, I'm starting a new thread to repond.

I call the British "Friends and Allies", because whenever a Yank is in a skirmish, they know that they can trust a Brit to cover their back.

and the translation into English reads:

"whenever America want to go to war, our left wing Prime Minister does whatever Mr President says"

But I'm cycical. (role on may 2010........)

Yeah, that's about the way it goes.... On the political level, anyway.

On the ground, we look after eachother - The Yanks are often gung-ho Hollywood warrior types, but they have a great sense of humour, lots of cool combat toys and they always bring a shedload of beer to the parties :D

It helps that I happen to like Budweiser ;)

Politics aside, I love the U.S.A. Tried to get a Green Card (work/residency permit) a few years ago but am not talented or wealthy enough to qualify, exactly how I think the immigration system here in the U.K should be. Did meet a girl from Great Falls,Montana whilst I was over there but marrying for a work permit would have been a step too far!

Things you should share with us;

Dennys, Taco Bell, Gas Station coffee and donuts, Proper sized parking spaces, customer service, tinned jalapenos, cinnamon toothpaste, cheap gas and freedom of speech. You can keep Grits, television and Paris Hilton!

Regards

Peter
