October 5, 200915 yr Author aw come on ,play the game £400 Aren't we a grumpy sod! Near enough, £425. Thought wasn't bad at that money
October 9, 200915 yr Author UPDATE. Just back from bit more work on the bike. Fork seals done, have removed and painted all the brackets i can (fairing support etc) - look ok, big improvement. Think i got oil leak sorted too, was just a missing bolt on bottom of gearbox casing. Thats the kind of fix i like! Next is more cosmetic work. Got the stupid bits on frame repainted, again big improvement. Gonna t-cut & polish the shite out of the panels before i reassemble the lot again. Long term plans include full repaint (even got my colour scheme sorted) and hopefully the R6 seat conversion that i wanted to do on previous FZR before its departure. Cant wait to get full mines on it now!
October 15, 200915 yr Author AAAAAGGGGGHHHH!! Somebody out there in the grand scheme of things doesnt like me. Got the bike back together yday. Really happy with it, busting to get a run out. So, filled tank up and set off. Got approx 5 miles, and bike decides to stop revving, drop power and sound like a Massey Ferguson. Worst bit is that i was passing 2 cars at the time, another vehicle appearing over the oncoming horizon turned out to be a cop car too! Had plenty of room to get back in safely enough, then stopped to assess things. Hoping its something stupid like a gasket has gone and nowt too serious Then got a phone call from my kids school to collect him early, he's now been diagnosed with swine flu. This sucks
October 17, 200915 yr Author Well, I've done some investigation this morning and think i've found the fault. Plug on cylinder 2 had come out! no surprise it was going like shite. Threads are fecked. So gonna be head off job for a repair. Think i'll do head gasket while i'm at it
October 25, 200915 yr Author UPDATE Hey folks. Thought i'd add few more pics. Stripped engine out yday to get thread repaired. Tempted to strip rest of it down now, make a winter project out of it. Powder coat frame/brackets/etc, seat conversion, polish some elements and repaint the lot. But as usual it'll all have to be on super-tight budget!
