I am thinking about getting a Tach (rev counter for the Brits) these look very nice - if a little expensive:

http://www.cruisercustomizing.com/detail.cfm?Category_ID=67&manufacturer_ID=4&product_ID=40404&sblid_name=Cobra_Cruiser_Tachometer___V_Star__________for_Yamaha_V_Star_1300&model_id=140

But there's no info on how many RPM these 950s will pull? (or the torque or BHP figures)

All these add-on tachs seem to go to 8,000.

Any clues? - I hunted the Yamaha website - nothing.

Luv the bike BTW...

I had a look and came up with these numbers...

Maximum power: 39.4 kW (54 PS) @ 6,000 rpm

Maximum torque: 76.8 Nm (7,84 kg-m) @ 3,000 rpm

So a Tach that goes to 8K wuld be fine
