Hi !

I try to find a heat shield for my "new" bike...

dsc_0013.jpg

It's a CT1 (serial number CT1-300705 but first immatriculation in France in 1974 ?...)

Anyway, further questions :

-Where can I find an heat shield (some on ebay got 2 points at the rear, mine's got only one)

-the seat looks strange...is it stock?

If there's somme specialists...all informations about my bike are welcome !!!

Many thanks!!!!!

JD

I've found some answers on e french forum!

It's a european Ct1 from 1973 (front indicator on the handlebar).

The difference with the US model is the seat wich is longer and the muffler wich is longer too !

Here's the two models to compare:

European (mine):

US (Yann 31):

Unfortunaly...I prefer the US mode l ;)

HI all.

May be a stupid quetion but, I bought a CT 175 not sure the year, aparently got some parts from a CT1 but there are parts form ct2 and Ct3.

The engine come all in parts. The head of the engine got 2 spark plugs, Is that normal for a 2 stroke bike? Should it has only 1 spark plug as it has only one piston?

Try to work my head around..

Thanks .

Jidmichat,

What's stumping you may be the fact that, although your frame is stmped "CT-1", what you have there is a "CT-3".

So, the 248-14718-30-00 won't fit, it's for '69-'71 AT1/CT1.

The part number you need is 314-14718-30-00. Lots of the parts are inter-changable between the AT1/CT1 and the AT3/CT3, and actually, between the whole AT1/AT2AT3/CT1/CT2/CT3 family but not the exhaust.

On another note, your exhaust is the same as the US model, fitting the AT2/AT3/CT2/CT3, it just has a longer silencer on it, (is it a factory part?).

Her's the best OEM parts web site, if you search a part and click on it, it'll show you what other bikes it will fit:

http://www.boats.net...ycle/parts.html

By the way, I'm searching for a '69-71 European AT1, non-electric start.

I bought a CT1 175 new back in 1971. In NZ, they were only sold in the red colour, The DT2 250 was the Yellow/gold as was the 125. $242 NZ back then , It was a damn good alround bike. The first of many sold, that I should've kept.
