poobah500
I am modifying a 1974 TX500 to use a rear disc brake using a 76 RD400 as a guide. Here's the problem: In all my cross referencing I've found the RD uses a caliper that is the same part number as the TX front caliper (which I have many of). The RD connects the rear brake line directly to the caliper with a banjo bolt- The brake calipers that I have collected are fronts of a TX ( same part number as the RD rear)- The TX caliper will not accept a banjo bolt they are setup to connect using pipe with a tapered threaded connector. The tapered hole will not accept the banjo bolt- What am I overlooking? They are the same part # but it doesn't work. Any thoughts would really help.
