Posted August 20, 200915 yr Hey ya'all, I have an 81 Virago XV750. Most of the time when I start it it makes a HORRIBLE grinding sound then eventually stops. Somebody told me that it was because it has plastic gears or plastic something in there. Can somebody please tell me what the hell this guy was talking about or if you know what makes it grind like that? Sincerely, LadyBiker99
August 20, 200915 yr A known fault with the Yamaha 'V' twin range is problems in the starter motor area. ATB J
August 20, 200915 yr LadyBiker99 Yeh deffinatly a Starter issue - not dissengaging by the sounds of it .. Take the ninja its a bonnier bike [ Theres sumthing nice about riding be-hind a girl on a sports bike[ nice view]
