Batifan19 Posted August 17, 2009 Share Posted August 17, 2009 Hi y'all Ive got twin rear lights on my '99 R6. Coming back from a ride Im informed my left light is out. My b/f takes off the lense cover (which is bubbled from the heat), we find that the bulb has melted into the plastic at the back and we cant get it out....same on the other one although not quite as bad. They are only little 8w bulbs?? can anyone offer a theory as to why they are running that hot? Dont wanna fork out on new stuff if they are just gonna be frazzled too... is it just shit selection of bulbs / lights on an 'aftermarket' undertray or could there be another issue? They will do but should stop around 2500 - 3000 rpm, after that they should remain a constant brightness. If they continue to glow brighter its time to measure the voltage...
