Posted August 14, 200915 yr The clutch push rod on the 400 broke, and of course nobody has one in stock. I have officially decided to upgrade to a newer XS650 with low miles soon as I can afford it. August 19, 200915 yr how old is the bike? my Yam dealer told me Yamaha stock parts for all bikes up till there 30 years old..so i got 8 years left on mine lol
August 26, 200915 yr Well that is partly true. They don't stock all the parts even for the 400, and definetely not all the parts for my XS1100. In particular a lot of the less popular rubber parts are no longer available, and some ring sizes etc. I'm starting to consider picking up a couple of parts bikes just to make sure I have parts for the future, or course knowing me I'll fix them up and get them running and then they won't be parts bikes anymore.
August 26, 200915 yr ive been looking for a parts bike too....seen plenty but they just too far away and it would cost more renting a van and driving than the bikes worth lol
