Hi all,

I bought my first bike last week, Dragstar 125 (2000), it has a few bumps which is fine 'cos i'm sure i'll give it a few more but my problem for today is this:

a. It has been modified with LED indicators, which look ok, but have been fitted by a person who would be better suited to work with HGVs that small bikes - it looks somewhat messy. I do want to either fit the origanal style indicators or tidy up what's there. However, the rear light mounting has been butchered when fitting them so i need a new one - any idea where I can find one? I have searched everywhere, and google brought me here several times but I cannot find a rear light housing.

b. The indicators do work and it passed an MOT three days before i bought it, but the front indicators are dimmer than the rear and can barely be seen with the headlight on - any ideas how i can sort that out?

I must confess, i know next to nothing about electrics and mechanics - I fix people for a living not machines!

thanks for your time

robert

I reckon the dim indicators are either just crap custom parts, or there's a wiring fault.

Personally, I'd advise re-installing original parts, or parts patterned from originals.

These can be had from breakers yards, found on eBay, Fowlers, PartFinder or possibly even from Yamaha themselves.

Either that, or find some custom parts that will fit well enough.

Most decent mechanics should be able to sort out the wiring and fit whichever parts you settle on.
