I was undoing the alt cover and oil starts to leak out, so i tighten it back up. Is there oil present in this part of the case? do i have a serious problem? I am trying to troubleshoot a non running left cylinder but as i said maybe this is a big int. some help is greatly appreciated.

Place it on your center stand and you will only lose a few drops if any.

unless the engine is over full or has some ingress of fuel to the motor causing it to over fill
