I purchased a r1 a few yrs ago from a guy that was in the navy. He had the bike shiped in from another country. I cannot for the life of me find out how to decode the vin as to what country it came from. IE where bike was when purchased for the first time from a dealer.??//???Here is the enigma...

VIN# RN041-019009 (there has been no tampering of any kind on the stem and this is what it says) Why only 11 digit and not 17?
