NatesXS1100 Posted June 12, 2009 Share Posted June 12, 2009 THe second cylinder seems to not fire as good as the other four im kinda new at all this bike tech but if anyone has any tips that would be nice Yamaha XS1100 special Changed plugs checked for spark, there is definitly spark changed all the gas lines and well it just doesnt seem to run right Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

yamadoger Posted June 13, 2009 Share Posted June 13, 2009 check the wires under the left engine cover as u sit on bike this is the vacum advance. while the bike is running gently tug or push the two small stretchy wire you should get a noticeable difference in rpms replace with longer heavier wire. and i do agree with the others clean your carbs and try them and then clean them again and then once more just for fun Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Clean the carbs. Check them and then clean them again. Now that their clean, clean them again. Make sure you can get carb cleaner to blow through ALL the little passages, and make sure you remove the jets and clean them out. Then make sure to do a GOOD carb sync, as these things are VERY sensitive to carb sync issues. Also while this is a great site, there are both US and UK specific XS1100 sites, although both sites have members from all over the world.
