I have a 1998 Fazer with no engine, someone has told me that a Thundercat or R6 engine would be an ideal replacement (same mounting points etc), what other work would need to be carried out, I have the original ECU. June 9, 200915 yr you would need the ECU/CDI for that specific engine, and wiring in to the Fazers wiring loom would be difficult so you may want to try and get an R6/Thunderace wiring loom im not sure if they do have the same mounting points so thats something you need to make sure of
