Hi there,I am new member here and I wanted to say hey to everyone, I also had a few questions about an XS 360 '77 that I am going to be purchasing tomorrow. The bike was purchased from seller with 1000 miles on it about 8 years ago. He said when he purchased it was in near mint condition, but a couple years after he purchased it, it was stolen by some crack head and the guy punched out the ignition and messed with the wiring pretty badly. Also, apparently the crack head decided to punch out the gas cap as well. The bike was finally recovered and has been sitting for some time now and not been ridden but it does have good compression and all parts are there. Being that it is in the condition it is, what do all you fine folks suggest for major things to check out when I get the bike back home? I am pretty savvy with bikes but I have never worked on this particular one. Just thought I would put that out there. Thanks!

change oil and filter, kick over withour sparkies in to get oil pressure.

new battery

rebuild the carbs as they will be gunged up (usually)

generally service the bike and then it pretty much should be ok. they are simple machines but the camshaft runs in the head as opposed to bearings!!

if you go to classics section, there is a sticky with downloads and information.

drewps

BTW :welcome: to the forum
