Having a look for some replacement 32mm carbs, was searching for Mikuni VM 32's and came across a forum about a blokes CB 350, people are suggesting swapping his 32's for some 30's or 34's. I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to carburettors; is it possible to use different sized carbs than what is stock? XS's use BS 32's which are as rare as hen's teeth, but is it possible to use BS 34's or say, a pair of VM 32's?

Cheers

the numbers refer to the size of the venturi so 32 = 32mm.

a larger size will give better power higher up the rev range used in racing, but a lower size gives a faster airflow and is good for better torque lower in the rev range.

Yam compromised on 32mm for yours to give the best overall performance and fuel economy.

so you can use slighly larger/smaller sizes but will affect how the bike runs!!

Hi

BS carbs are no good at all you will need VM type carbs just keep with in these types and if you go away from std more time will be taken setting them up
