Posted May 21, 200915 yr hi folks looking for help on my son-in-laws bike. its a '92 fzr600 american import. he bought it as a non-runner and got it sorted up ready for starting. i wasnt there but he said it fired up and ran for a while but when he gave it some revs it gave a bang and stopped. the cdi has burnt out on it (you can open it up, its not a sealed unit) and i was wondering if the extra revs passed too much current. any ideas? p.s. the work he done on it was not electrical and the wiring all seems fine, not hacked at thanks
