I have recently brought a 1999 Yamaha XJR 1300 but the tacho doesn't work and i need to buy a replacement. Does anyone know where i can buy new/second hand sets, or if not if i can use spurious individual versions.

I'd try the local bike breakers, ebay search or google search to start with. You should be able to pick one up somewhere, these bikes have been around a while now.
