Posted May 3, 200915 yr Hi all, Does anyone know if its possible to connect a mobile phone charger directly to the 12V 6A battery on my YBR125? Ive got the cigarette lighter for my phone, i was thinkin of striping it down and connecting wires to the + & - terminals on the cigarette lighter directly to the + & - terminals on the bike battery. Anyone know if this will work or will i need resisters or something? Cheers Chris
May 3, 200915 yr If you wire it directly to the battery it will draw power all the time even when the bike is off. It would be best to wire to switched 12v so that its only on when the bike is on, other than that yes it should be possible.
May 3, 200915 yr Have a look at Towzatronics - I have just fitted a ciggy lighter type power take off to my 650 dragstar to run my phone charger/tomtom. I connected direct to battery and it is ok as long as you remember to unplug accessory when you stop. Alternatively you can connect on the switched side of the ignition.
