I know its not hard to go count them...but I'm at work and the bike is not..

I am having a set of new stainless spokes made as the originals started to break on my way home the other day.

I sent the guys samples and amounts but they have lost the details (not the spokes thank god).

I just don't want to loose another day waiting to tell them... I think its 40 but would like confirmation....

Got them from Central Wheel..

Had to send them samples but they turned them round in no time..

Just for referance, there are 3 types of spoke in the rear wheel of an XVS650..

1 long (er than the others)

2 short (one has a bigger bend then the other)

Didn't find out about the 3rd type untill the mechanic went to fit them, called Cenral Wheel and they made me 10 FOC....What can I say, they were great!
