I don't have an owner's manual and hate to start yanking, but how does the driver's seat come off a 2007 V Star Custom? I asked at the Service Department and they didn't know!!!

IIRC, there are a couple of small plastic fairings under each dise of the seat that need to be unclipped to gain access to the seat securing bolts. Either that or you have to lift the back corners of the seat to gain access.

Look at the rear of the back seat.

There's a nut holding that on. Remove the nut and lift the back of the pad, then pull it backwards - you may need to wiggle it from side to side.

It will come off. Note the bracket that the pillion seat hooks under.

Now look at the back of the rider's seat.

There are two allen bolts holding the pillion seat bracket and the rider seat down. Remove them and lift the back of the seat up and backwards. It will come off.

Assemble in reverse order.

Job done!!
