caferacer2
I recently bought a XS400. The first time i rode it oil started pouring out of my alternator housing. Upon further inspection there is a pea sized hole in the crankcase leading to the alternator. Im sure that isnt suppose to be there, but maybe is this a design of yamahas as the hole seems uniform and machined? Any help or comments would be appriciated. thanks
Moderator drewpy Posted April 15, 2009 Moderator Share Posted April 15, 2009 yep, its supposed to be there. that's why there is a gasketed cover on the end. It only pours out on side stand (i know from experience) with the cover missing, so timing etc on main stand is no problem drewps
