I have just recently picked up a basket case 1985 FZ 400r and need some info on the CDI.

The one that came with the bike (in a box) has the serial TID14-33 this has been cracked open and the internal electronics are covered in a rusty substance, a quick search on the net brings up one for sale for £40 but says it's been taken from a FZ600 ?

Is the TID14-33 the correct one for this bike ?

The reg/rec has the serial 12r-A0 SH233 which seems to be common so I should be able to pick one up easy enough also the starter solinoid serial number 714992.

TID14-33 is the correct part.

I have one you can purchase for £30 posted.

It was removed fully working from a 1986 FZ400.
